who are we?

LTB is a collection of simple design creations in clean, unfussy shapes for children and the home, inspired by the beauty of antique textiles. The designer, Marie-Pierre Guiard, sources her original material -- vintage linens, mattress cloth, tea towels, embroidered handkerchiefs, curtains, fabric samples – throughout France and in the auction rooms of the Hôtel Drouot. Once laundered, and sometimes dyed or mended, these fabrics are sent to seamstresses in Paris or Berry, for one-of-a-kind items, or to Hungary for small series, stuffed toys, accessories, linens, and clothing.

Les Toiles Blanches manufactures its products using semi-artisanal methods that respect both the environment and the tradition of antique household linens. The fabric has a characteristic patina, embroidery, or slight imperfections that create the product’s charm and express its history. All materials used are of natural origin, dyes are eco-friendly to protect babies’ delicate skin. The woolens used to make children’s accessories and clothing for our big doll Bertille come from couture houses' fabric stock clearances. Les Toiles Blanches creations are sold at over fifty sales points in France, Europe, the United States, Australia, and Asia.
