Les Toiles Blanches (“White Linens”) is the name of a small line of clothing and accessories soon to be launched for children from 3 months to six years of age.  The collection, consisting of ultra simple, comfortable basics, not necessarily all white, will be made from antique household linens.  One of a kind pieces cut from century-old hemp, cotton and linen cloth, crafted in a spirit of respect for tradition and, naturally, for the environment.  Antique household linen is ecologically responsible, breathable, inviting to the touch and, like all beautiful things with a past, gently marked by time.  The clothing and accessories of the collection have a worn-in sheen; they are ready to be lived in by your children and your children’s children.  Clothes are cut generously for each size, so your baby can grow into them over time.  Accessories and stuffed toys will grow softly shiny but remain sturdy, like yesterday’s teddy bears, as they are loved through the years.  The heart of Les Toiles Blanches is a family story, a heritage passed on.  It’s a trove of family linens accumulated over time and lovingly cared for to be handed down to the next generation.  The collection will be available online and in select sales outlets.  Some exceptional one of a kind pieces will be offered exclusively online at www.lestoilesblanches.com.

By the very nature of its products, Les Toiles Blanches will not produce in bulk.  Its unique offerings all have a little extra soul.  Anyone who has slept on sheets woven in the nineteenth century will understand.  Nothing can compare with this cocoon of softness, this tactile and emotional connection with the past, to cradle and accompany the unique moments of youngest childhood.
